The Why

Our purpose at The Mainspring is to create an online magazine and hub to showcase, highlight and elevate local businesses, entrepreneurs and creatives across Geelong and the region.

We acknowledge that we live, work on the stolen land of the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin nation. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.

INTERVIEW • Weeks after bringing a beautiful little girl into the world, Matt and Dani Fontana, quickly went from adjusting to life with a newborn to adapting their business @boutiqueeventco to COVID-19.
What are you doing while in ISO? While continuing to share businesses #OpenforGeelong on here, we've also been dabbling in some cooking, plenty of reading and even some crochet!
So many local businesses are providing great treats for Mother's Day (which is next Sunday in case anyone was wondering!). Swipe to see a few ⏩
While it may not feel like Easter this weekend with everything that's going on, it's still important to treat yourself with the spoils of the holiday!
"Physically apart, socially connected"
Last week the @flowerbowl team dropped off a box of bouquets for nurses, doctors and health workers at the University Hospital to pick up and hopefully brighten their day 💗💐.
What absolute legends 💕 @bottles_and_barrels is offering $1 coffees to hospo and health workers during this extremely challenging time.
Pantry items? In addition to the many local fruit and grocer stores that have remained open while implementing additional hygiene and social distancing measures, there are also many cafes now offering pantry essentials - with delivery too!
Thank you everyone for the response to #OpenforGeelong. We have managed to get a big list together that is now up on our website (see the link in our bio). Swipe ➡️ for just a few on the list.
